INTRODUCTION
Endochondral and intramembranous ossification are two pro-cesses involved in bone development in both humans and mice. The main difference between endochondral and intramembra-nous ossification is that the former forms bone through a cartilage intermediate, whereas the latter forms bone directly from neural crest-derived mesenchymal cells.
