A radically different path to high-performance Sn perovskite solar cells

The emerging perovskite solar cells(PVSCs)based on the earth abundant metal halide perovskites(MHPs)have achieved very high power conversion efficiencies(PCE as high as 25.5%)that can rival those of their inorganic coun-terparts such as silicon solar cells.In addition,the intractable long-term stability issues of PVSCs under harsh conditions have also been mitigated by compositional,additive,and interfacial engineering[1].However,the commercialization of PVSCs is still hampered by their potential detrimental effects to the environment and human health due to the use of lead(Pb)as metal cations in MHP,which causes serious concerns for PVSCs production.
