A promising protective layer towards practical lithium metal batteries

Li metal batteries(LMBs)are regarded as promising future high-energy batteries,but their practical application under the conditions of high current density and large areal capacity is impeded by Li dendrite growth and low Coulombic efficiency(CE)[1-4].This is largely due to the structural heterogeneity and mechanical fragility of the native solid-electrolyte interphase(SEI)formed in situ on the Li metal surface,which cannot stabilize and protect the Li anode[5-7].
