Single-atom alloying sprinkles magic over copper for exclusive CO2 conversion to pure formic acid

CO2 electrolysis provides a promising solution to achieve carbon neutrality[1].With electric power from renewable energy,CO2 electrolysis brings considerable economic ben-efits by converting CO2 into diversified value-added che-micals,including CO,HCOOH,CH4,C2H4,C2H5OH,and C3H7OH[2].Considering the profit of electrons per mole,HCOOH is one of the most desired products[3].Up to date,various catalysts,mainly the Bi-,Sn-,In-,Pb-based catalysts,have been developed for CO2 reduction to HCOOH[4].
