Halogen Storage Electrode Materials for Rechargeable Batteries

1.Introduction
Considering the increasing global energy demand and the serious pol-lution and climate change issues caused by the use of fossil energy,the development of energy storage technologies with high efficiency,high energy density,and environmental friendliness has become imperative for sustainable development.[1,2]Electrochemical energy storage devices,such as rechargeable batteries,have demonstrated promise as effective energy storage technologies.[3,4]A typical energy storage tech-nology,the lithium-ion battery(LIB),is a high-energy commercial rechargeable battery that has diverse applications in portable electronics and electric vehicles.[5-11]However,with the possible short supply of lithium resources and the rapidly growing demand for high energy density,sustainability,and high safety for rechargeable batteries,[12,13]new battery technologies are increasingly attracting interest,including other cation systems such as Na+,K+,Zn2+,Mg2+,Ca2+,and Al3+,[14-23]anion-shuttle batteries,and dual-ion batteries(DIB).
