ActaSeismologicaSinicaisacomprehensivepublicationonseismologybytheSeismologicalSocietyofChina.ItsHonoraryEditor-in-ChiefisProfessorandMemberoftheChineseAcademyofSciencesXinLingQIN,Editor-in-ChiefisProfessorandMemberoftheCASYunTaiCHEN.ThefirstissueofChineseeditionoftheASSwaspublishedin1979,andthatoftheEnglisheditionin1988.From1994boththeEnglishandChineseeditionsstartedtopublishnotonlyone-to-onecorrespondencebutalsodistributedtodomesticandabroadsimultaneously.From1997,thepublicationperiodwaschangedfromfourtosixissuesperyear.ThetwoeditionsofASShavebeenbroughtintoWanfangDigitizedJournalGroupandChinaAcademyJournalCompactDisk(CAJ-CD)andChinaJournalNetwork(CJN).
Itisintendedforthosescientistsandengineers,teachersandstudentsinuniversitiesandcolleges,engagedinseismologyandgeophysicsinChinaandabroad.Themaintopicspublishedareasfollows:(1)Resultsofscientificandtechnicalresearchinseismologyaswellaspapersregardinggeophysics,tectonicsandengineeringrelatedtoearthquakestudies;(2)Articlespresentingdifferencesofscientificpointofviewinthefieldofseismology;(3)Thepresentstatusandsignificantadvancesonresearchrelatedtoseismology;(4)Commentsanddiscussionsconcerningseismology;(5)Therecenttrendofscienceandtechnologyinseismology.ASSisaveryimportantcorejournalinseismologyandgeophysicsinChina.
In1992,ASSwontheFirstClassPrizewhichawardedbytheStateSeismologicalBureauofChinainMay,FirstClassPrizebytheChineseAssociationofScienceandTechnologyinSeptember,FirstClassPrizebyBeijingEditorialSocietyinDecember,andFirstClassPrizebytheDepartmentofPropagandaofCentralcommitteeofChineseCommunistParty,StateScienceandTechnologyCommissionofChinaandtheOfficeofPressandPublicationofChinainDecember.
In1996,ASSwonagaintheFirstClassPrizewhichawardedbytheChinaSeismologicalBureau,SecondclassprizebytheStateScienceandTechnologyCommissionofChina,andSecondClassPrizeinthewholenationcompareandassessmentofjournal.In1999,ASSwonthe“NominationPrize”ofChinajournal.In2001,ASSwasselectedtotheChineseJournalSquareMatrix,andwonthe“DoublePrizeJournal”ofChina.
Sofar,ActaSeismologicaSinicahasbeenincludedbythefollowingimportantsearchingsystem,databaseandrelatingliterature:
