Observation of a 3-in-1 Russian-doll-like Complex in Solution

Supramolecular chemistry is based on non-covalent interactions that enable molecular recognition.By weak interactions,a large number of structures,such as rotaxane[1,2]and catenane[3,4],as well as more complex structures[5,6]have been assembled.The Borromean rings[7,8]and Schiff-base macrocycles[9,10]are becoming attractive in these years because of their diversity of structures and ability to self-assemble.Till now,researchers have reported a multitude of other fascinating supramolecular constructs[11,i2].
