Emerging Carbonyl Polymers as Sustainable Electrode Materials for Lithium-Free Metal-Ion Batteries

1.Introduction
The rapid economic development,the acceler-ated industrialization and urbanization,and the steadily growing human population have stim-ulated the world energy consumption at an alarming rate.[1]In the last years,fossil fuels have continued to dominate the global energy sector and accounted for over 80%of primary energy supply for the world.[2]However,burn-ing fossil fuels of coal,natural gas,and petro-leum has usually caused greenhouse gas pollution and global warming.[3]Meanwhile,it generally takes millions of years for regenerat-ing such fossil fuels through natural processes.The ever-increasing demand for energy accom-panied with the rising environmental issue has brought about an urgent requirement to seek clean and renewable energy techniques.[4]As well-known in the nature,secure and sustain-able energy resources are plentifully available from sun,wind,wave,waterpower,and tide;however,these energy sources are generally dependent on the weather,geographical loca-tion,season,and time of the day.[5]Regarding this scenario,energy storage techniques are imminently required for the efficient utilization of the renewable generation of clean energy,and what's more,provide alternative strategies for powering the green future.[6-10]
