Magnet rare earth production must double in 10 years—Where will production come from?

Author:When I first heard that statement about future production,I asked myself"Where will production come from?".Additionally,the western world seeks to establish supply chains which are less reliant on China.I have worked in the rare earth field for much of my life and understand the difficulty of developing rare earth extraction and separation projects.The news that rare earth production must double in the next 10 years seemed incredible and promoted the investigation that led to this article. 1.Rare earth elements (1)Rare earth elements There are 17 rare earth elements,including scandium,yttrium,and the elements from lanthanum to lutetium.However,only 15 of them are important and will be discussed in this paper;scandium is not very common in rare earth deposits and promethium is an unstable radioactive element with only 600 grams on planet earth!
