Concilia Owire, 28, grew up in a small village in west Kenya. Weighed down by cultural tra-ditions and financial constraints, girls of her generation have often abandoned their career aspirations. But the opening of the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), built with Chinese support, has changed all that.
