On October 9th, 2022, Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, MOFCOM published the White Paper on Development of High-quality Collagen Industry inChina. This White Paper provides measures and suggestions concerning the problems, risks andchallenges in China's collagen industry accordingly. Based on the data of Grand View Research, China's collagen market reached a scale of $983 million (or 7.06 billion yuan) in 2019, accounting for 6.4％ in the global market and it was expected to reach $1.576 billion (or 11.3 billion yuan) in 2027, accounting for 6.96％ in the global market. Besides, it pointed out that it was suggested that the collagen industry should take the path of high-quality development, deepen the cooperation between industry, university, research and government, extend the product chain and upgrade the product; we should attach importance to the standard setting and standardized application of collagen; and we encourage enterprises to keep more high-end products at home and upgrade domestic consumption.
